Fitness training is not just about telling you how to do particular workouts. It is about teaching you which one is good for you or how should you do it and how long. Always check the person’s certificate and this if he or she fails that step, the buck stops there. What happened to others who trained under this person? Sometimes even qualified and experienced persons do things to satisfy their ego and weird sense of experimentation that might damage his or her trainees.
Does his/her training style suit you?
Are you looking for a compassionate motivator in your trainer or a strict task master who mercilessly pushes you to perform tasks? The best way to find out is by talking to the trainer about his or her style or observing a training session if possible.
Will you be comfortable working out with this person?
This is crucial because unless you can be comfortable with your trainer, it will not be an enjoyable experience. Can you ask any question that is in your mind? Can you discuss your insecurities and fears if any and expect him or her to sincerely appreciate your problem and give an honest answer?
These are just some tips that can help you zero in on your best choice for a trainer. You should have a detailed discussion with that person before starting your training so that both of you are on the same page and understand each other.
