These Vitamin C Rich Foods In Daily Diet Can Boost Immunity

Boosting up immunity is a must for good health. But of late it has become much more importance in the backdrop of the Covid 19 pandemic crisis. Vitamin C is a vital component for boosting immunity. Recently, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has shared a list of Vitamin C rich foods, on social media, that one must consume daily to boost  immunity. Vitamin C is a powerful anti oxidant and is immensely beneficial for the nervous system and the immune system as well as skin.

Amla

Amla or Indian Gooseberry is a rich source of Vitamin C. One amla a day provides 46 per cent of the daily value of Vitamin C. It also contains manganese that supports our metabolism, bone formation, reproduction, and immune response.

Oranges

Orange provides different kinds of vitamins and nutrients. 100 grams of Oranges contains 53.2 mg of Vitamin C, which has antioxidant properties. The essential nutrient helps boost the immune system and protects the cells from damage caused by free radicals.  Oranges also contain Vitamin D, a nutrient that regulates the immune response system.

Papaya

A medium-sized papaya contains double the amount of the daily recommended  vitamin C. It also contains a digestive enzyme called papain having anti-inflammatory effects. Papaya also contains good amounts of potassium, magnesium, and folate, that are beneficial for  skin, immunity and overall health.
